the funky shoe edit
shoes...shoes I KNOW!!
So I have a confession to make…I think I may need to stop accepting cookies. The ads on my phone and promotional emails have been TOO specific lately, which may be good in theory but it’s definitely not for my bank account lol. If you were to go through my camera roll you’d see a whole lotta archival runway looks and a bunch of screenshots of shoes. My wishlist has been been growing a lot lately, and I want to share it with you guys. So shoutout to the funky shoe lovers cause this ones for you!
Funky - modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way.
I now present to you: The Funky Shoe Edit!
Jeffrey Campbell - Cantor Split-Toe Sneakers
These shoes are what actually prompted me to write this article. I’ve been loving ballet core and the ballet flat hybrid sneaker, I have the Taekwondo Mei’s but I also really like Rombaut’s interpretation of this trend. What makes this shoe so interesting is the tabi silhouette which makes them a 3 in 1, sneaker/tabi/ballet flat. I love the metallic detailing and the suede criss cross strap. These also come in a light blue for those who may be interested.
VibramFiveFingers - Performa Jane Evo

Last year on ASOS there was this style edit called “Scandi Cool Girl” which I came across in an article by JouuJoux. If I had to describe my style I would say that it fits somewhere along those lines. I really like Scandi style, more specifically Copenhagen style. I really love brands like Ganni and one of my favourite pastimes is admiring Copenhagen street style and Fashion Week looks. It only makes sense that these super cool shoes are sold by a store called Naked Copenhagen and are only available for in-store purchase 🙄. I really like pink so the fuchsia colourway caught my eye, but the black version is available on SSENSE.
New Balance - 1906L

I’ve had my eye on this shoe for a while now. A couple months ago New Balance and Ganni did a collab with this silhouette and I absolutely LOVED it. I didn’t end up getting them, but I came across an ad of this multicolour version which I really like. Sneakers have always been a staple in my wardrobe and I’ve been enjoying how they’ve been evolving lately. All the remixes that designers have been doing make them really fun. These kind of hybrids can be dressed up or down and can be worn casually or to the office!
Clarks Originals - Wallabee Wedge
Clarks are a staple within Caribbean culture. If you’d like to learn more I’d suggest the article linked below. As someone who is of Caribbean descent and a platform lover, it’s no surprise that I like these shoes. The faux fur and platform sole are nice additions that add a little something to the classic Wallabee shoe. If you like the Naked Wolfe Blizzard shoes then these might be your vibe as well. They’re also a cheaper alternative if you want a similar look for a lower price.
Well…that’s my little round up of cool shoes I came across recently. Which one’s are your favourite? Let me know in the comments below!

I really love a good funky shoe. I think the new balance loafers and JC’s are a casual/cool wearable office staple’s.
